This page will walk you through everything you need to know in order to vote in any MCDO Convention or Reorganization Meeting.

A BALLOT WILL BE TEXT OR EMAILED TO YOU AT THE START OF THE MEETING’S VOTING PERIOD

The MCDO consistently asks each town’s Municipal Chair to send us the most updated contact information for all County Committee Members. We have mailed and emailed each County Committee Member a letter with the information we have on file at the beginning of the year. If we had a cell phone number and/or an email address on file for you, your secret ballot will be sent directly to that email address and/or cell phone on file.

Search your inbox for the following information (make sure to also check your spam folder!):

  • Sender’s name “Middlesex County Democratic Organization
  • Sender’s email address in*********@ma**.com

The text message you would have received included “MCDO: New ballot notification. Vote here” with the link to your individual ballot.

Click on the link provided by email or by text to cast your vote. You will only be able to vote once, which means if you clicked the link in your email, the link sent to your cell phone will not allow you to vote again (or vice versa).

Once you see the “Thank You!” screen, you are done! You cannot change your vote after it is submitted. The voting period will be announced during the meeting, and the winner(s) will be announced after the voting period has ended.

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE TEXT OR EMAIL – HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTE PROVISIONALLY

If we do not have an email address and/or cell phone number on file for you, you will need to vote using the provisional voting system by phone. You will need to know your State File ID number before calling the automated system. You can get your State File ID number by signing into the NJ Division of Elections System. Your profile will look like this:

Below are the instructions on how to access the ballot:

  • Step 1 — Call the number provided during the meeting
  • Step 2 — Enter your 10-digit numerical State File ID number (do not include the leading letter as a digit and DO NOT press pound after entering the State File ID number)
  • Step 3 — Cast your vote by following the directions read to you
  • Step 4 — Hang up and dial the number provided to call back into the Convention

If you vote using the online ElectionBuddy ballot and the phone voting system, the MCDO will only accept the online ElectionBuddy vote. If you vote twice using the phone voting system, the MCDO will only accept the first provisional vote received.
