Claribel Cortes has become the first Latina to serve on the North Brunswick Township Council after being appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the death of veteran Councilman Robert Corbin on March 15.

Cortes Becomes First Latina to Serve on Township’s Governing Board

EDISON -- The Middlesex County Democratic Organization Chairman Kevin McCabe and Vice Chair Beatrice Moskowitz today congratulated Claribel Cortes on her appointment to the North Brunswick Township Council. Cortes became the first Latina to serve on the township Council when she was sworn in to fill an unexpired term left vacant by the death of longtime Councilmember Bob Corbin.

Biden for President of the United States; Cory Booker for U.S. Senate; Frank Pallone (NJ-6) and Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) for the U.S. House of Representatives; Nancy Pinkin for County Clerk; and Charles Tomaro and Leslie Koppel for the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
